Fitness is being strong enough to easily do what you want in everyday life.
It is about maintaining flexibility and agility so that all your joints move easily and freely.
It is also about mental fitness and being open to new ideas and change.

Being able to deadlift 100kg at the age of 61 is superbly empowering but being able to carry your shopping or putting an overnight bag into an overhead locker on a plane, is freedom and independence.
Fitness does not come easy for anybody. It requires consistent effort but the rewards are enormous. Keep at it, change is possible at any age. Enjoy your life to the full and do not let preconceived ideas about age define who you are.
Love your last sentence...!! So easy to let external stuff define who we are.....so much automatic thinking we need to de-program and other conscious choices we need to make in our daily lives...😉
