How is your inner badass doing?

As we get older, it is easy to become comfortable and set in our ways. Everybody is hard wired to prefer the easier option or the path of least resistance. Whilst that can be a good thing if it drives our quest for inventing labour saving devices such as cars, planes or dishwashers, it can also be supremely damaging. The less you do, the less you want to do. Sitting on the sofa becomes more attractive than going for a walk. Having the extra biscuit more appealing than depriving yourself.


Without resistance or stress, we however become increasingly weaker and probably very boring too. We need a sense of achievement and there is no better feeling than doing something you thought you never would or didn't think you could.


Everybody has an inner badass, the part in you that thrives on new challenges, doing something new and different and that buzz you get when you have achieved something unique to you.


Why is this topic close to my heart?


In my beginners class on Sunday made up of a group of amazing people all over the age of 60 and many well into their 70's and one lady who will be 80 this year we did just that!


We all took turns waving the battle ropes for 30 seconds. Everybody was cheering, the camaraderie was infectious and the results amazing. Everybody was happy, smiling and was able to go home and tell their loved ones that they had done something unique and special. They all unleashed their inner badass and felt amazing.
